Overview
XChat is an independently developed, feature-rich mobile messaging application engineered to deliver a seamless real-time communication experience. Built with a modern React Native and Expo architecture, the application provides a smooth native feel. I designed and developed the entire application from the ground up, implementing everything from the user interface and secure Firebase authentication to the core real-time messaging engine, user presence system, and media attachments.

Our Approach
Building a real-time chat application requires precise state management and efficient database subscriptions. Using Firebase Firestore, I engineered a highly responsive message delivery system that handles typing indicators, read receipts, and online presence with minimal latency, ensuring a fluid user experience even on slower mobile networks.

- Secure Email/Password and Google authentication via Firebase
